Your own foundation home – a dream within reach!

one day...

One quiet afternoon, the phone rang. It was a friend of the Foundation who gave me the number of a person who had a game-changing proposal. Although the house we were talking about was very far from the Foundation's headquarters in Poznań, to my surprise, it turned out to be incredibly close to my home.

Mr. Jacek invited me to his home – a place that had stood empty for three years, waiting for someone to breathe life into it. The house was beautiful, though sad, ravaged by time and in need of a thorough renovation: the roof needed replacing, the rooms needed redecorating, and the oil furnace needed to be swapped for modern heating. Adjacent to it was a yard and a large garden – a space full of possibilities.

Mr. Jacek lived right next door and spoke about the house with great sentimentality – it was ancestral property, a legacy from his ancestors. But his heart told him that this place should serve something greater. He wanted to give it to our Foundation. That moment was like a flash of hope for me – a great gift, a chance to create something special.

The decision wasn't easy, because there are seven heirs behind the house, who, however, all agreed that this property should support our mission. It's a village, a place full of silence and peace, just fifteen minutes from the lake, ideal as a sanctuary for those who need safety and support.

We decided then that this house would become a shelter for people experiencing homelessness who are retired or have a steady income, so they could live in dignified conditions while contributing to the cost of living. This will be a place where our clients who are about to retire will be able to continue their recovery without having to look for a new home.

However, questions and doubts remained. Where will we get the money for such an expensive renovation? How will we maintain four Houses of Saint Lazarus and the Floral Corner of Saint Rita simultaneously – places that already provide shelter to 11 women and 40 men?

Today, I'm reaching out to you with a request for your opinion and support. Is it worth taking this risk, believing that together we can create a new, hopeful home? Are you, as a donor, willing to increase your help by a few, or perhaps a dozen or so, zlotys? So that in a few years, we can all together enjoy the opening of this extraordinary place, which will become a home not just of brick and roof, but of a human heart.
