Volunteer – Join our team!
No one is made to live in solitude. Every person needs another person. Therefore, we want to create a Volunteer Team that will support activities for homeless people and impoverished individuals/families.
Looking at the needs of our clients, we want to create the following Volunteer Teams:
- field team
- Therapeutic team
- fundraising team
- media group
- administrative team
- family unit (domestic)
- evangelistic team
We want our volunteers to do what brings them the most joy. That's why It's up to you to decide which Team you'll belong to and how much time you're willing to dedicate to volunteering. Or do you have another idea of how you can serve your fellow human beings? Would you like to share your ideas with us? If you decide to, schedule a conversation with us. Field Team
The main tasks of the Field Team include:
- transport of individuals experiencing homelessness to treatment centers,
- collection and transport of short-shelf-life food,
- street working,
- interventions.
Individuals interested in this volunteer opportunity should possess a driver's license (though not necessarily for street outreach) and their own car (this does not apply to transporting homeless individuals). After a longer period of collaboration, we are able to provide a foundation car.
Therapeutic Team
Therapeutic team is team of specialists comprised of doctors of various specialties, nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, etc.
We know how difficult it is to get appointments with specialists. Our charges often need immediate, specialized help. This help often saves their lives! The more specialists we find from different fields, the more we will help. We invite you to cooperate!
Fundraising Team
By joining this Team, you don't have to live near Poznań – volunteering can be done online. Relational fundraising is primarily about building strong relationships with Donors.
We want our donors understood our mission, that what we do, changes the world for the better. By understanding our actions and identifying with our mission, they become part of it. We want our donors to have a real impact on our work. Therefore, constant contact is so very important. Further tasks include planning fundraising campaigns, managing the newsletter, providing information, showcasing our mission on social media, and inviting people to get involved in our activities.
Media team
The media component is very important, as it brings our daily work closer to the public. It's not just about managing social media or photo reports of our activities.
The Media Team's primary goal is to show the truth about our clients and how we work together. But it's also a part related to running the „Homeless Voice” channel, where we want to share knowledge about the phenomenon of homelessness.
Family company
Many of our charges have no contact with their families for various reasons, or their families are simply no longer around. We know perfectly well how important close relationships are to feel more secure and to feel that one is not alone.
Family (or home) groups can be formed by entire families or by individuals. Our proposal is to create a „Family Sunday” at St. Lazarus House. By spending time with our charges, residents learn how to properly celebrate Sunday, experiencing a family atmosphere (e.g., attending Holy Mass together, coffee, cooking dinner together, conversations, walks, board games, movies, etc.). Celebrating birthdays or sobriety anniversaries together is also a good idea.
Evangelical team
We know perfectly well that for something to be lasting, it must be built on a strong foundation.
The Evangelization Team is tasked with evangelizing people experiencing homelessness in various ways. Our goal is to reach those still on the streets or in non-residential places with the Good News, as well as to lead Bible Circles, Rosary prayers, or organize retreats at St. Lazarus House. If you wish to share your testimony of life with God with our residents, you are welcome at St. Lazarus House.
