#: Another Life Saved

We started with detoxification. The team from Gdansk brought Grzegorz to a detox ward at a hospital near Poznan. Then, from detox, we transferred Grzegorz (thanks, Bogusiu!) to the Provincial Hospital in Poznan, where I had previously reserved a spot for him. I highly value the cooperation with Ms. Ania Danielak (head nurse) and the head of this department, Mr. Adam Trawiński. I also cannot forget the entire staff of this department, starting with the doctors, nurses, and the entire therapeutic team – your cooperation saves the lives of many of our beneficiaries.

After an 8-week therapy period, Grzegorz was admitted to the House of St. Lazarus. He started working in the plumbing and sewage installations. He never had any problems at the House or at work. After 7 months of living in the House of St. Lazarus, Grzegorz went home for a weekend visit. Unfortunately, he stumbled and relapsed into drinking.

At the House of St. Lazarus, he experienced a huge opportunity he never had before. With shame and sadness, he came and asked us to start working together from scratch. And we started. 8 weeks of therapy. Work. I give a big salute to Mr. Pawel, who was (and is) Grzegorz's employer. When he learned our ward's story, he decided to help him by not firing him from work. He waited until he finished therapy and took him back. THANK YOU!

Since September 17, 2021, Grzegorz is once again a resident of St. Lazarus House. And as always at the beginning of the journey, I ask you, dear ones, for help. At St. Lazarus House, he has experienced a tremendous opportunity, unlike anything he has had before. With shame and sadness, he came and asked us to start our collaboration anew.
