#: Another Life Saved

As every Monday, I had consultations for people experiencing homelessness. Among others, Marcin came to see me. He had only been in Poznań for a few days.
"I want to end this kind of life: alcohol, drugs. I'm wasting my life," I heard. I lost my parents at the age of 16, they are no longer alive. I have no one to turn to for help.

I saw great motivation in him to change his lifestyle. We established an action plan: passport photos, hospital bag, clothes, obtaining documents, therapy, accommodation at St. Lazarus House, work, continuing therapy.

Thank you to Łukasz from the Caritas Warming Room (and bathhouse) for helping Marcin. He was not only able to shower, shave, and use hair clippers there. Łukasz made sure Marcin had clothes to wear and a change of clothes for the hospital. I am very grateful!

Unfortunately, it turned out there were no spots available for therapy. I was desperately looking for a place in shelters. One of the problems turned out to be regionalization, as Marcin did not have his last permanent residence registered in Poznań.

It would be useful to have a place, an apartment, or even just a room where people who have hit rock bottom and cannot currently get into a shelter could stay while awaiting admission for therapy. Perhaps with your help, we can create such a place.

I asked for help from reliable Mariola Janicka, a social worker with whom I cooperate. Ms. Mariola found a place in therapy at the MARKOT Center in Rożnowice. We immediately got into the car and drove to the Center. I express my sincere thanks to Ms. Marta, the director of this Center, for her immense help and kindness shown to us. Thanks to Mariola and Marta, Marcin can begin his recovery.

Dear ones, I ask for your help! Please support Marcin with your prayers so that he perseveres until the end of his therapy. I am full of hope that another life has been saved.
