Maciej, President of the Foundation: When I visited St. Lazarus House No. 3, I met with Ward living in this Home. We sat down over coffee. I knew a bit of His story: I'm the one who brought Him from foster care, so we talked on the way. October 1, 2025, marks a year since He's been in our Home. I can see how much He's changed. My younger siblings and I had a nightmare at our parents' home. I can't forgive them for it. We were young children. When our parents drank, we had to watch them... have sex. As a child, I had to watch that and was very scared. Eventually, my siblings and I ended up in a care facility. Because my siblings were younger, they went to a foster family, and I went to a children's home. I learned a lot there. I finished school there.The facility saved my life. When I turned 21, I had to leave the center. I went to my younger siblings. Unfortunately, the foster family couldn't take me in „permanently,” but I was welcome in this Home. From there, you took me to the Home of St. Lazarus – when my siblings' foster mother called your Foundation. Today, I am working, developing. I have specific plans. The House of St. Lazarus is my only – so far – true Home.
